Why are we called 'Peachtang?'

There are literally thousands of web design companies out there and it is important to choose the right name. Gimmicky names are great for a pub quiz, but when it comes to the world of business it is more important to be taken seriously.

The things we took into consideration when choosing our name were:

• How easy is it to spell?
• Are the .com .net and .co.uk domains available?
• Connotations of the words

The words "Peach" and "Tang" and both very easy to spell and are quite easy to communicate over the phone with having to spell them out.

All three domain names were available, which does make life a lot easier. We chose peachtang.net as our main address, because we are a web company.

Both words have a several meanings. Peach is a colour, a flavour, a fruit and it is also a declaration of attractiveness or quality (e.g. "She was a real peach" or "I am feeling peachy").
Tang is a type of fish or a flavour. However, just with the word “flavour” it does not necessarily refer directly to the olfactory sense, it can just be a charactaristic.
